PARTICIPATION FEE: None! Just bring your appetite!
REGISTRATION:
Registration must be completed and turned in by 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
RULES:
Each contestant will be given a whole pumpkin pie. The first person to eat the entire pie, including the crust, will be declared the winner. If no one has eaten the entire pie within a 5-minute period, the person who has consumed the most pie will be declared the winner.
In case of a "tie", the audience will be asked to determine the winner by cheering. Whoever received the loudest cheers will be declared the winner.
You may use your hands throughout the entire contest, and you can drink water as well.
You will be disqualified should you be unable to keep the pie down.
Contestants must be at least 13 years of age. Anyone under 13 must have parental permission.
There is no entry fee, but you must complete this registration form to enter.
Contest will be judged by the Nekoosa GIANT Pumpkin Fest staff.
Contest is open to the first 50 registered contestants.
PRIZES:
First place champion will choose between a $100 Nekoosa Piggly Wiggly gift certificate or receive one free pie each month for 12 months from Perkins in Wisconsin Rapids. Second place champion will recieve the award the first place champion did not choose.
Various other prizes will be awarded.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration of my voluntary participation in the Nekoosa GIANT Pumpkin Fest pie eating contest and any other activities relating to the Nekoosa GIANT Pumpkin Fest, Oct. 5, 2013, I assume the inherent risks (potentially resulting in injury or death) related to the event. I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives waive any and all claims, actions, or rights I have or may have against Nekoosa GIANT Pumpkin Fest, the City Nekoosa, the Downtown Nekoosa Shopping District, the Nekoosa Mainstreet Downtown Development Authority, their officials, employees, volunteers, and agents (collectively referred to as the "governmental entities" that may arise as a result of my participation in the event. I give permission to the governmental entities to use, without charge, all or a portion of my likeness (and make any editorial changes) in promoting the event and the governmental entities. I waive any claims, actions, or rights I have or may have against the governmental entities arising from the use, publication, and changes in the content. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the governmental entities from all claims, actions, or liabilities (including reasonable attorney fees and costs) from any claim, action, or liability arising out of or relating to my participation in the event. I promise to examine the event site and assure myself that the area is safe, and further agree that I will not participate in the event unless I am satisfied that the area and conditions are safe and that the pumpkin pies are safe to eat, I will further read and comply with all contest rules and regulations, note existing weather conditions and do agree that I voluntarily assume all risks arising from conditions related to the event site by myself or others. The below information I filled in is correct to the best of my knowledge. I have read and agree to the contest rules and regulations.
